I remember as a kid I had a schedule to follow, along with my academics we had to participate in church activities, outdoor games, family prayers, indoor games, book reading and household chores. My brother and I used to be so mad especially when it came to doing house hold chores (we had to do this though we had a full time servant just because we had to "learn"). I wish I had understood and put to practise even today the habits my mom had taught me. Last week I was diagnosed with high Blood Pressure (140/90and this brought in a rude awakening of my daily pattern of activities. I work hard, sleep less, eat possibly everything except junk food, sit long hours in front of my computer, worry about others and spend hours on Facebook and lousy Farmville!
Looking at the information of the laziest countries that I included below, I realised that if I refuse to hear the alarm bell ringing then all of us across the globe will have to face serious results.
The list of laziest countries in the world was calculated based on the following factors:
- Calories Per Day: from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations from the 2009 Statistical Yearbook; 2003-2005 data.
- Television Viewing: combined data from the OECD Society at a Glance 2009 and OECD
-Communications Outlook 2009, tracking hours of television watched per day and the percent of people who prefer to watch television with their free time.
-Aversion to Playing Sports: from the OECD Society at a Glance 2009, tracking the percent of people who prefer to play sports with their free time.
-Internet Usage: average hours per capita for December 2009, provided by ComScore.
